Strong Iodine Tincture Indications

An antiseptic and disinfectant for application to superficial cuts, abrasions, insect bites or minor bruises.

Dosage and Administration

Dilute one (1) part tincture iodine 7% with two (2) parts of propylene glycol. Cleanse the area with soap and water. Apply the dilution lightly not more than once a day.

Precaution(s): Store at 2°-30°C (36°-86°F). Flammable. Keep away from heat and open flame. Keep the container closed.

Caution(s): Do not apply under a bandage. The product may irritate tender skin areas. In case of deep or puncture wounds or serious burns, consult a veterinarian. If redness, irritation, or swelling persists or increases, discontinue use of the product and consult a veterinarian. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use on burns.

Not for use in deep cavity wounds or body cavities.

Keep out of the reach of children.

May be fatal if swallowed.

Antidote(s): If swallowed, give starch paste, milk bread, egg white or activated charcoal. To vomit, take mustard and warm water. A 5% solution of sodium thiosulfate (photographic “hypo”) may be administered orally at a rate of 10 mL per kilogram of body weight. Call a physician or poison control center.
