MIXING DIRECTIONS

Using the chart as a guide, mix the appropriate amount of milk replacer powder with clean, warm water (110°F), as recommended below per calf bodyweight. Feed the milk replacer solution immediately at a feeding temperature of 100°F.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

Feed to provide each calf 10 mg. of neomycin sulfate and 10 mg. oxytetracycline per pound of bodyweight daily as well as to supply sufficient diflubenzuron to prevent the emergence of adult house flies, stable flies, horn flies, and face flies from manure of treated cattle. Existing adult flies will not be affected. Start feeding ClariFly® early in the spring, 30 days before flies begin to appear, and continue feeding throughout the summer and into the fall until cold weather restricts fly activity. In some cases, supplemental fly control measures may be needed in and around barns and calf hutches to control adult house and stable flies, which can breed in other decaying organic matter or silage in the area, or that migrate in from other locations.

Feed continuously for 7 to 14 days in place of normal milk replacer.

Thoroughly mix this milk replacer powder with warm water and feed immediately. When preparing large batches (i.e., anything other than individual calf servings) keep the mixture agitated while dispensing into individual feeding containers to prevent settling.

Feed the medicated milk replacer solution TWICE daily according to the following schedule.

CALF CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

1) Feed large breed calves 4 quarts of high quality colostrum within 2 hours of birth and again 12 hours later. Adjust amounts for small breed calves.

2) Begin feeding milk replacer on day two.

3 Begin feeding calf starter free-choice in the first week. Feed a small amount at first and replace daily.

4) Calves can be weaned from milk replacer successfully when intake of calf starter reaches 2 pounds daily for 3 consecutive days.

5) Environmental conditions may alter feeding rate. See your nutritionist for details.

The benefits of a comprehensive calf care program can result in more productive and profitable livestock.
