Company: Mg Biologics

For veterinary use only

Volume: 1000 ml

ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody, Equine Origin, is intended for use as an aid in the control of foal pneumonia caused by Rhodococcus equi by reducing disease severity. The average foal should receive one liter of ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody within the first 3 days of life. Dose at a rate of 20 mL/kg of body weight (approximately 10 mL/pound).

ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody is collected in a sterile closed system and may contain plasma from several donors. ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody is collected from healthy horses testing negative for the antibodies against As, Ca, and Qa red cell antigens, as well as, EIA and EVA. Sodium citrate is used as an anticoagulant as part of the manufacturing process. ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody does not contain preservatives.

Use: ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody requires freezing until used. To thaw, submerge in warm water for 10 minutes, squeezing the bag periodically to circulate for faster thawing. Warm the liquid plasma to body temperature, again, using a warm water bath. Do not microwave this product!

Administer using an IV administration kit with filter. Caution should be observed, however, as occasionally intravenous infusion may result in shaking, sweating or hyperventilation. If this occurs, discontinue use for 5-10 minutes. Then resume at a slower rate of infusion. If adverse reactions persist, discontinue use.

ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody, Equine Origin Caution

Please administer plasma and antibody products prior to the use of milk replacer. This is a matter of product compatibility, not product quality. There is always the possibility, while rare, of transmission of viral disease in any blood product. This product has not been processed by heating or treating with ionizing radiation and therefore may be capable of spreading disease.

A condition referred to as equine serum hepatitis, or Theiler’s disease, has been linked to the usage of products containing equine serum or plasma. Current research has implicated Equine Parvovirus (EqPV) as a potential causative agent for equine serum hepatitis, or Theiler’s Disease.
