Recommended for the cleaning and disinfecting of vehicles, livestock and poultry buildings and equipment, hatcheries and equipment.

Proquat™ Germicidal Detergent is a concentrated germicide based on a unique blend of quaternaries. PROQUAT cleans, disinfects and deodorizes in soft or hard water (by official A.O.A.C. test 400 ppm CaCO3, use dilution confirmation 1:256). For heavily soiled areas, a preliminary cleaning with Proquat™ is necessary before final disinfection.

Poultry and Livestock Buildings, Vehicles and Equipment:

Remove all poultry and livestock from buildings. Remove all litter and manure from floors, walls and other surfaces of barns and equipment. Apply Proquat™ at the recommended use dilution and saturate all surfaces by spray or manual methods. Preliminary cleaning may be necessary. Ventilate buildings and allow disinfectant to dry before housing livestock. Rinse feeders and waterers thoroughly with potable water prior to reuse.

Hatchery Sanitation:

Use Proquat™ 1:256 to clean and disinfect hatchers, equipment, floors and walls. Also for disinfection of setters and hatcher trays before reuse. Saturate all surfaces. Preliminary cleaning may be necessary.

Disposal

1. Do not reuse empty container.

2. Rinse the emptied container thoroughly and add the rinsings to treatment site.

3. Follow provincial instructions for any required additional cleaning of the container prior to its disposal or reconditioning.

4. Dispose of the container in accordance with provincial requirements.

5. For information on the disposal of unused, unwanted product and the cleanup of spills contact the regional office of Environment Canada.

6. For small spills. Recover free liquid. Soak up residue with solids absorbent. Sweep up spill, and put into disposal container and dispose as per point 5. DO NOT FLUSH INTO SURFACE STREAMS. INFORM ENVIRONMENT CANADA AS IN POINT 5.

Precautions

Corrosive to eyes. Causes eye damage and skin irritation. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Wear goggles or face shield, protective clothing and rubber gloves when handling. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Avoid contamination of food. Do not use on animals.

FIRST AID:

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses immediately. For eyes, call a physician. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If swallowed, drink promptly a large quantity of milk, egg whites, or gelatin solution. If these are not available, drink large quantities of water. Avoid alcohol. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician immediately. If inhalation of concentrate fumes causes irritation to mucous membranes and/or breathing difficulties, get fresh air. Take container, label or product name and Drug Identification Number with you when seeking medical attention.

TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION:

Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate inducing vomiting. Measures against circulatory shock, respiratory depression and convulsion may be needed. Skin contact can cause allergic dermatitis. For further information refer to the MSDS. Oral LD50 (rat): 2100 mg/kg.
