Swine Influenza Vaccine, pH1N1

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy swine, including pregnant sows and gilts, 3 weeks of age or older against swine influenza virus (SIV), subtype pH1N1 (A/California/04/2009 isolate). Duration of immunity has not been established. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data, go to productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

This product has been shown to be effective against nasal shedding and lung lesions.

Directions For Use

Shake diluent before use. Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the accompanying adjuvant-containing sterile diluent provided, shake well, and administer 2 mL intramuscularly. Healthy swine should receive two 2-mL doses administered approximately 3 weeks apart. In young pigs, vaccinate after maternally derived antibodies to SIV have declined. For advice on revaccination frequency, contact your veterinarian or the manufacturer.

Precautions

Store at 2°-8°C. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened or rehydrated. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Contains gentamicin as preservative. Do not mix with other products, except as specified above. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.
