What is FELIWAY^® CLASSIC?

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC is a product line for comforting cats when exposed to charges in their environment and stressful situations. These circumstances are often associated with inappropriate behaviours in our feline companions, such as urine marking and scratching in the home. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC builds confidence and signals to cats that there is no need to leave these unwanted marks.

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC pheromone products are clinically proven* to provide reassurance to kittens and cats of all ages, helping them feel safe and secure when they need to adapt to new surroundings and changes in their environment (adoption moving home, vacation home, boarding, new furniture, renovation, new family member or new pet), stressful events (parties at home, fireworks), multi-cat homes, car travel or visits to the vet. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC helps curb inappropriate stress-related behaviours.

Pheromones are perceived from the environment. The feline facial pheromone is naturally released by the cats’ cheek when they feel comfortable and safe in their environment. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC is a synthetic copy of this pheromone. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC is species specific. It can only be perceived by cats and has the same meaning to all cats.

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC is not a sedative. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC is the first line non-drug solution for stress-related behaviours. It has been proven to help control minor to severe stress in cats. In some case, additional behavioural treatment and environmental modifications may be required; advice should be sought from your veterinarian.

Cat behaviour is often very complex and there are many approaches to help control it. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC has no contra-indication with any other treatment. FELIWAY^® CLASSIC can be used in addition to other behaviour modification treatments your veterinarian or qualified behaviourist may recommend.

• About FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Diffuser

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Diffuser requires a Refill and a Plug-In Device, each sold separately. The Refill contains the product to be diffused and the Plug-In is the diffuser device. Each Refill lasts up to 30 days. The Plug-In Device should be replaced every 6 months.

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Diffuser works continuously to provide constant comfort and reassurance at home. It is clinically proven to help cats adjust to challenging situations and curb inappropriate stress-related behaviours.

Use FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Diffuser to help your cat:

- reduce urine marking and scratching

- adapt to new surroundings (moving home, new family member or pet)

- adjust to changes at home

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Diffuser is not recommended for overt aggression between cats or towards owners.

FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Diffuser should be plugged in the room where your cat spends most of its time.

Each 48 mL vial lasts up to 30 days.

CONTENTS HARMFUL. Do not swallow. Do not get in eyes or on skin or clothing.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Use only in a well-ventilated area.

FIRST AID TREATMENT: Contain Distillates (petroleum), hydrotreated middle.

If swallowed, call a Poison Control Centre or doctor immediately. If person is unconscious, obtain medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting. If in eyes, rinse with water for 15 minutes. If on skin, rinse well with water.

Use only in properly functioning 120-volt electrical outlets.

DO NOT PLUG: Below any electrical device, under furniture or under any object protruding from the wall, in a multi-socket/multi-plug adaptor or an extension cord.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read all the instructions before using the product. This product is not a toy. Intended for adult use only.

When using electric products, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when a product is used near children. DO NOT put fingers, hands, metal or other foreign objects in the product. There are NO user serviceable parts on this device. DO NOT attempt to refill with other liquids or substances. If the diffuser unit blocks the “TEST” or “RESET” buttons of a GFCI receptacle, it is recommended that the unit be removed from the outlet monthly and the GFCI be tested before plugging the electric diffuser unit back into the outlet. The internal parts of this device will get very hot to encourage evaporation of the active ingredient. Do not touch these surfaces during use. To avoid damage, DO NOT place pheromone refill on finished wood surfaces or place any object above warmer. DO NOT PLUG: Below any electrical device. Under furniture or under any prominent object from the wall. In a multi-socket/multi-plug/extension cord. MINIMUM CLEAR DISTANCE above diffuser = 4 ft (1.20 m). DO NOT disassemble diffuser unit or modify the plug in any way. DO NOT plug in sideways or upside down. DO NOT immerse in water. Do not cover or place under furniture. This may impair or block diffusion of the product and leave residual marks.

Replace the diffuser plug-in device every 6 months. Use ONLY FELIWAY^® CLASSIC Refills.
