FIRST AID

If on skin or clothing:

Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

If in eyes:

Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

If swallowed:

Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Do not induce vomiting unless told to by a poison control center or doctor.

If inhaled:

Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth, if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment.

HOT LINE NUMBER

Contains an organophosphate that inhibits cholinesterase. Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor, or going for treatment. For additional information on this pesticide product (including health concerns, medical emergencies or pesticide incidents), you may call 1-800-428-4441 twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.

NOTE TO PHYSICIAN

If symptoms of cholinesterase inhibition are present, atropine sulfate by injection is antidotal. 2-PAM is also antidotal and may be administered, but only in conjunction with atropine. Product may cause aspiration pneumonia. Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

Precautionary Statements

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS

Beetle Shield 6 Caution

Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco. Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Personal Protective Equipment (ppe)

Some materials that are chemical-resistant to this product are butyl rubber, neoprene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). If you want more options, follow the instructions for category A on an EPA chemical-resistance category selection chart.

Mixers, loaders, applicators and other handlers supporting dusting applications must wear:

● Coveralls over long-sleeved shirt and long pants

● Chemical resistant footwear plus socks

● Chemical resistant gloves

● A NIOSH-approved dust mist filtering respirator with MSHA/NIOSH approval number prefix TC-21C or a NIOSH-approved respirator with any N, R, P, or HE filter.

Loaders and others handling dust bags must wear:

● Long-sleeved shirt and long pants

● Socks and shoes

● Chemical-resistant gloves

User Safety Requirements

Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

User Safety Recommendations

Users should:

Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside, then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.

Environmental Hazards

This product is toxic to fish, birds, and other wildlife. Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in adjacent areas. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Run-off may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash-waters or rinsate.

Directions For Use

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Read the entire label prior to use.

This product is a ready to use insecticide dust. There is no withholding period from last application to slaughter.

USE RESTRICTIONS

● Apply this product only as specified on the label.

● Do not apply this product during milking operations.

● Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift.

● Only protected handlers may be in the treated area during application.

● Remove or cover exposed food and drinking water before application.

Non-agricultural Use Restriction

For individual treatment, direct dust to vent and fluff area. Group treatment may be preferred. Dust should reach skin. Wire rungs and corners should also be treated.

Note: For northern fowl mites on roosters, thorough individual application of the dust will assure long-lasting control and reduce reinfestation of breeding flocks.

Floor Management Litter (Indoors)

Darkling beetle (litter beetle)

Use 1.5 to 4 oz/100 sq ft.: Plunger or rotary type duster

Also treat roosts, cracks and crevices where pests may hide.

Use 1.5 to 4 oz/100 sq ft

Treat a 3-foot wide band of litter under all of the feed and/or water lines in the house; a 3-foot wide band of litter adjacent to the side and end walls.

Dust Box

Use box about 2 ft by 2 ft by 1 ft deep

Roost Paint

0.5 lb/100 sq ft: Make thick slurry by mixing 1 lb of dust with 1 pint of water, continually stir.

Treat roost thoroughly particularly the cracks and crevices.

Storage And Disposal

DO NOT contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.

PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store product in its original container in a cool, dry place that is inaccessible to children and animals.

PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site in accordance with label directions, or at an approved waste disposal facility. Open dumping is prohibited.

CONTAINER DISPOSAL: Non-refillable container. DO NOT reuse empty container. Completely empty bag into application equipment, then dispose of empty bag in a sanitary landfill, or by other procedures approved by state and local authorities.

TO THE EXTENT CONSISTENT WITH APPLICABLE LAW, ELANCO MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING ANY OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS OR MERCHANTABILITY, and no agent of Elanco is authorized to do so except in writing with a specific reference to this warranty. To the extent consistent with applicable law any damages arising from a breach of this warranty shall be limited to direct damages and shall not include consequential commercial damages such as loss of profits or values, etc.

The directions on the label were determined through research to be appropriate for the correct use of this product. This product has been tested under different environmental conditions both indoors and outdoors similar to those that are ordinary and customary where the product is to be used. Insufficient control of pests or plant injury may result from the occurrence of extraordinary or unusual conditions, or from failure to follow label directions. In addition, failure to follow label directions may cause injury to animals, man, and damage to the environment. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Elanco offers, and the buyer accepts and uses, this product subject to the conditions that extraordinary or unusual environmental conditions, or failure to follow label directions are beyond the control of Elanco and are, therefore, the responsibility of the buyer.
