SALMONELLA TYPHIMURIUM VACCINE

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy chickens 1 day of age or older against Salmonella Typhimurium, Salmonella Enteritidis, and Salmonella Heidelberg. Duration of immunity has not been established for this product. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data, see productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

This product has been shown to be effective against colonization of Salmonella Typhimurium, Salmonella Enteritidis, and Salmonella Heidelberg in the internal organs of vaccinated chickens.

This product has been shown to be effective against colonization of Salmonella Enteritidis in the crop and digestive tract, including the ceca, of vaccinated chickens.

Recommended for use at 1 day of age by coarse spray application, followed by a revaccination in the drinking water at 14 days of age.

Drinking water administration:

Remove disinfectants, sanitizers and antimicrobials from the drinking water 24 hours before and after vaccination. Mix vaccine in clean water which contains no disinfectants, sanitizers or antimicrobials. Use 50 liters of water for each 5000 birds. Provide ample space for all birds to drink easily. Water containing vaccine should be consumed in 2 hours or less. To assure all birds drink, withhold water for 1 hour prior to vaccination.

Coarse spray administration:

Rehydrate the vaccine with cool distilled water which contains no disinfectants, sanitizers or antimicrobials in an amount sufficient enough to vaccinate the required number of birds according to the directions of the spray cabinet or field sprayer manufacturer. Field spray application should be used only in houses that can be tightly closed. Close all windows, doors, vents, etc. and turn off fans. Spray each 5000 doses of vaccine directly into the faces of 5000 birds. Leave house closed for at least 15 minutes after spraying. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment during vaccination.

Storage temperature: Store at 2° to 8°C (35° to 46°F).

Warnings

Vaccinate only healthy birds.

Use entire contents when a vial is first opened.

Inactivate unused contents before disposal.

Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the labeling.

Keep permanent vaccination records, including vaccine serial number.

Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
