When the product should not be taken
Do not take the product:
• To treat an established deficiency caused by
your body’s inability to absorb dietary vitamins.
• If you recognise any ingredient known to make
you feel ill.
• If you suffer from high calcium or
vitamin D levels.
• If you have a special sensitivity to
vitamin D
• If you suffer from a rare condition in
which calcium deposits are forming in
various body tissues.

Please read this leaflet carefully before using this medicine. If you need any

Ingredients
Each Vikonon tablet contains the following active
ingredients:

Use in pregnancy and when nursing
If you are pregnant, trying to be become pregnant
or are breast feeding talk to your doctor before
taking Vikonon tablets.

Calcium Glycerophosphate 130mg
Calciferol (Vitamin D) 240iu
Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B1) 3 mg
Tocopheryl Succinate (Vitamin E) 10 mg

Special Warnings
If you suffer from kidney or urinary problems it is
important to discuss this with your doctor before
taking this product.

Each tablet also contains the following non active
ingredients :Lactose, Magnesium Stearate (E572), Stearic Acid
(E570), Colloidal Silica, Starch, Carmoisine (E122),
Erythrosine (E127), Titanium Dioxide (E171), Syrup,
Ethyl Cellulose, Sugar, Talc (E553b), Kaolin (E559),
Acacia (E414)

Other medicines
This product is intended to increase the calcium
levels of the blood. Certain diuretics* also increase
calcium levels and the effect of taking both
together may produce sufficiently high levels of
calcium in the blood to cause a condition known as
hypercalcaemia. The symptoms of hypercalcaemia
are listed under overdose. If you are taking certain
medicines for your heart such as digoxin then
the adverse side effects of that medicine may be
increased (your doctor can advise you).

Carmoisine (E122) can cause allergic type reactions
including asthma. Allergy is more common in those
people who are allergic to aspirin.
Vikonon tablets are a sugar coated tablets
strip packed in 10’s and are classed as a dietary
supplement.
Licence holder and manufacturer
The product licence holder for Vikonon tablets
is Neo Laboratories Ltd, 51-53 Stert Street,
Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 3JF and they are
manufactured for Neo Laboratories Ltd by Custom
Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Conway Street, Hove, East
Sussex and packed by Wasdell Packaging Ltd, Bristol
Road, Stonehouse, Gloucester.
What the product is for
Vikonon tablets are intended as an oral vitamin
and calcium supplement, the product is intended
to prevent rather than treat dietary deficiency of
Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin B1 and Vitamin E.

If you are being prescribed cholestyramine or
colestipol, then the absorption of some of the
ingredients may be reduced, ask your doctor for
advice.
The absorption of Magnesium from other medicines
will be increased. Products which affect the
movement of the guts will affect the absorption of
Vitamins D and E.
(*Diuretics are medicines which increase the
production of urine.)

Dose
For adults and the elderly: One tablet daily taken by
mouth.
Not recommended for children.
You should not exceed the stated dose. Do not take
the product for prolonged periods unless advised to
do so by your doctor.
Overdose
Overdose is unlikely but should it occur the
symptoms will be those of hypercalcaemia.
Symptoms to look for are reduced desire to eat,
nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pains,
weakness, thirst, copious production of urine and
drowsiness. The treatment of an overdose requires
medical assistance, if you suspect an overdose
contact your doctor immediately.
Side effects
Side effects are unlikely unless a the product is
taken for prolonged periods and/or in excess of
the recommended levels. If you notice any of the
symptoms described in the overdose section (see
above) or any other unusual effects you should see
your doctor immediately.
Storage
Store Vikonon Tablets between 4°C and 25°C. Store
all medicines out of the reach of children. The pack
has been marked with an expiry date, do not use
the tablets after the last day of the month shown.
