Usual Adult Dose for Periodontitis
10% liquid:
Direct application: Apply several drops to the affected area up to 4 times a day AND at bedtime (or as directed)
Oral rinse: Apply 10 to 20 drops onto the tongue and swish up to 4 times a day AND at bedtime (or as directed)
Duration of therapy: Up to 7 days
Comments:
- Patients should avoid swallowing this drug.
- Direct application: Patients should retain this drug for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
- Oral rinse: Patients should mix the drops with saliva, then they should swish the mixture around for at least 1 minute.
Uses:
- Aiding in the removal of mucus, phlegm, or other secretions associated with occasional sore mouth
- Temporary use in cleansing canker sores
- Temporary use in cleansing gum inflammation or minor wounds from accidental injuries, dental procedures, dentures, orthodontic appliances, or other gum/mouth irritations

- Patients should be instructed to stop treatment and to contact their healthcare provider if symptoms do not improve within 7 days OR if excessive sensitivity/irritation occur during treatment.
