Ingrezza (valbenazine) "Medication made me gain 70 pounds. That's right you heard me 70 pounds. Did not entirely stop my symptoms so doctor switched me to Vraylar and I dropped 20 pounds and have no symptoms. Stay away from this drug unless you want to be obese like I am now."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "I started noticing my Tardive Dyskinesid when I went on Abilify injection to treat my bipolar disorder. I had uncontrollable mouth movements and would often get comments asking me if I am chewing gum or yawning. My doctor recommended me on this drug and warned me that it is a fairly new drug and is on trial stage. I started taking it and within a couple days I started drooling uncontrollably and even broke out in hives! I believe I was allergic to the drug. Also I did consume alcohol while on it and I almost fainted and had to vomit very quickly. Now I am on Lamictal for BD and don’t have TD anymore! :)"

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "Beware! Beware! This drug cured my Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) alright. And in exchange it gave me Parkinsonism! Now I have a bunch of diseases, including MS, but nothing in my life was worse than this. I couldn’t eat a bowl of cereal, get up off the couch, get into or out of bed by myself, walk, write, turn over in bed, carry a cup of coffee, or even wipe myself. My husband thought he was going to have to quit his job to take care of me. I had to wait months to get an appointment with a super-specialist, then months more to wean off the drug very slowly. And now I am severely obese to boot. I lost a year of my life. Thank you, Ingrezza."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "This medication is a great. I have been on it since Jan 2019, diagnosed with TD since 2015 and it has all but stopped all the symptoms. Previous treatments were Cogentin, Propanolol and Klonipin none of which seemed to have much of an effect. I have my life back thanks to this med."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "Beware this drug. After about a week and a half of using Ingrezza (which had no positive effect on my TD in that time, incidentally) I had an anaphylactic reaction resulting in hospitalization. I'm very lucky I didn't die me, since it occurred very suddenly at night. I only lived through it because my mouth was so swollen that it was numb, and I woke up when I rolled over on that side and felt the strange sensation. That is the only time I've ever had an allergic reaction of any type. Again, beware."

"My husband has been on Valbenazine for a couple of years now. This drug is amazing. His mouth tremors and lip smacking are basically gone. BUT! V.A. refused a refill and no titration off of the drug. The first 24 hours were ok but then things got worse for him. All symptoms returned within 48 hours, mood swings, anger, lip smacking, etc. Thanks to the Neurology Movement Disorder Clinic he will be back in this medication again. I can't wait!"

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "Didn't work at all. Had a lot of side effects. Cost $100 a pill and I had to take 2 pills a day! I tried it again eight years later. Instead of them sending a week at a time they sent out 5 weeks' worth at over $6,000.00 After the first pills were taken I got bad side effects. We disposed of the pills properly. Don't waste your time on it. Get samples to see if it's going to work first. It's a rip-off and you probably get better results eating jelly bellys."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "I took Austedo for a while to control my TD symptoms. It was great at first then, symptoms returned. I was then prescribed Ingrezza. You'll probably have to get a prior authorization from your insurance. It costs about $8,000. I have Medicare UHC and they cover it. This made me really sleepy throughout the day, which resulted in being prescribed another drug. I took it at bedtime. I rarely have TD symptoms. It's worth it to have those sleepy days."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "My husband has taken Ingrezza (40 mg/day) for a couple of years now due to TD. He has had schizophrenia for decades and has been on Clozapine for 18 years, various other schizophrenia meds before that. He takes his meds always and has a healthy lifestyle which includes daily exercise and careful eating and monitoring his Type II Diabetes. I just happened to look at these reviews and was shocked at the bad experiences people have had. He has had nothing but excellent results, Ingrezza removed the mouth movements with no side effects at all and no weight gain. In fact, I think over time it has also helped to decrease hallucinations and increase focus. I don't know if it is because his health and medications are so stable and consistent, I really can't say why his experience has been successful when it has not been so for others. But Ingrezza has certainly worked well for him."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "My husband who suffered from Parkinson’s as well as unipolar biological depression. His antidepressant medication caused TD which he suffered from for years. His psychiatrist recommended Ingezza. It truly was like a miracle cure, his symptoms were elevated within 24 hours. I bless whoever invented this everyday."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "I was experiencing uncontrollable tongue and jaw movements. I was and still am taking antipsychotic medications. It took only ten days for Ingrezza to significantly reduce the symptoms of TD. Because of other medications that I take my doctor decided to keep me on the lower dose of 40 mg per day. The only side effects I have are sleepiness and fatigue. The reduction of my TD outweighs the side effects I have of Ingrezza."

Ingrezza (valbenazine) "I am a parent of a son with schizophrenia. He most recently as been on Haldol for the last 2 1/2 years and started showing signs of TD (thrusting of his tongue). He tried Ingrezza first for 2 months. Started extreme drooling problems, limited speech, and vomiting. Discontinued Ingrezza but his psychiatrist said his symptoms were not from Ingrezza. Per the doctor, he again went on Ingrezza to help his Tardive Dyskinsia but within 2 days on this second try, MY SON HAD COMPLETE LACK OF ABILITY TO MOVE NOT ONLY HIS MOUTH BUT HIS ENTIRE BODY!!! HE DROOLED, COULD NOT SWALLOW, FROZEN IN PLACE STANDING IN THE HALLWAY. I had to help him move and the vomiting again happened. He could not even direct his head over a trash can to vomit. It just came spewing down his face. Did not work for my son!"
