Actions

The germicidal entire ingredient in Fido’s Pet Care Products Disinfectant Concentrate is a cationic alkyl dimethylbenzyl ammonium halide. As such, it is a member of the group of compounds known as quaternary ammonium compounds (Quats), with proven broad spectrum activity as a bactericide and fungicide.

Disinfectant Concentrate Indication(s)

For use in cleaning and disinfecting herd non-porous surfaces including dog baths and hydrobaths; walls floor, cages and inanimate objects in kennels, catteries, aviaries, stables, hog barns, poultry houses, veterinary clinics and residential settings; non-critical medical devices and animal feeding utensils.

Directions For Use

Dilute before use. Dilute at the rate of 100mL of concentrate per 1L of water. Apply diluted product using a spray bottle. Pre-clean heavily soiled surfaces before product application. Remove all heavy soil, such as urine and fecal matter, from hard surfaces and objects prior to disinfection. Remove all animals/poultry and their feed from premises prior to disinfection. Empty all feeding and watering appliances prior to disinfection. Allow surface to remain wet for ten minutes before washing off. Following disinfection, do not house animals/poultry until areas have been ventilated. All surfaces and/or objects that will contact feed or drinking water should be rinsed with potable water before reuse. This product is not to be used as a sterilant/high-level disinfectant on any surface or instrument that: (1) is introduced directly into the human body, either into or in contact with the blood stream or normally sterile areas of the body: or (2) contacts intact mucous membranes but which does not ordinarily penetrate the blood barrier or otherwise enter normally sterile areas of the body. This product may be used to pre-clean or decontaminate critical or semi critical medical devices prior to sterilization or high-level disinfection.

Disinfectant Concentrate Cautions And Safety Precautions

Physical and Chemical Hazards: Because Benzalkonium Chloride is a cationic disinfectant, it is incompatible with soap. Do not mix with detergents or other chemicals. De not use in septic systems. Hazards to Humans and Animals: Causes skin irritation and serious eye damage. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Wear elbow length rubber gloves and eye protection during use. Harmful if swallowed. Storage: Store at room temperature in a cool, dry, well ventilated area in the original container away from sunlight. Do not contaminate water, food or feed during the use and storage of the product. Disposal: Do not reuse or refill this container. Rinse the empty container thoroughly prior to disposal. Dispose of the empty container in accordance with municipal / provincial / territorial requirements. Offer for recycling, if available. For information on disposal of unused, unwanted product, contact the manufacturer or the appropriate municipal / provincial / territorial agency or product stewardship organization. First Aid: If the product comes in contact with skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. If the product comes in contact with eyes, wash immediately with water. If accidental ingestion occurs, drink plenty of water and call your local Poison Centre. Do not induce vomiting.
