What is temazepam (Temazapam)?
Temazepam (temazapam) belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines. It works by depressing the central nervous system (brain), causing drowsiness to aid in falling asleep. Temazepam (temazapam) belongs to to the same family of medicines as diazepam, alprazolam, clonazepam and lorazepam, and others.
Temazepam (temazapam) is used to treat insomnia (difficulty in falling asleep, waking up frequently at night, or waking up early in the morning). Temazepam (temazapam) may also be used for purposes other than those listed here.
The recommended dose of temazepam (temazapam) is 15-30 mg taken about 30 minutes prior to bedtime.
Temazepam (temazapam) side effects include excessive sleepiness, dizziness, weakness, unsteadiness, depression, loss of orientation, headache, and sleep disturbances.
