What is Depakote (Depokote)?

Depakote (Depokote) is an anticonvulsant. It works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters) in the brain and reducing or preventing seizures by controlling the abnormal activity of nerve impulses.

Depakote (Depokote) is used to treat certain types of seizures in the treatment of epilepsy, certain psychiatric conditions (manic phase of bipolar disorder) and to prevent migraine headaches.

Depakote (Depokote) may also be used for certain conditions as determined by your doctor.

Depakote (Depokote) side effects include diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, hair loss, blurred/double vision, change in menstrual periods, ringing in the ears, shakiness (tremor), unsteadiness and weight changes.
