What is Bystolic (Bistolic)?
Bystolic (Bistolic) is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Bystolic (Bistolic) may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Bystolic (Bistolic) is a beta-blocker. It works by by allowing the heart to beat more slowly and less forcefully, decreasing the amount of blood it pumps out which ultimately reduces pressure within the blood vessels. This helps to decrease blood pressure, helps the heart pump more efficiently, and reduces the workload on the heart. Bystolic (Bistolic) also vasodilates. This means it keeps blood vessels open by preventing the muscles from tightening. The blood vessels relax, allowing the blood to flow more freely.
