Bistolic

Bistolic is a common misspelling of Bystolic (nebivolol).

What is Bystolic (Bistolic)?

Bystolic (Bistolic) is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Bystolic (Bistolic) may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.

Bystolic (Bistolic) is a beta-blocker. It works by by allowing the heart to beat more slowly and less forcefully, decreasing the amount of blood it pumps out which ultimately reduces pressure within the blood vessels. This helps to decrease blood pressure, helps the heart pump more efficiently, and reduces the workload on the heart. Bystolic (Bistolic) also vasodilates. This means it keeps blood vessels open by preventing the muscles from tightening. The blood vessels relax, allowing the blood to flow more freely.

Bystolic (Bistolic) may also be used for other purposes not listed here.

Before taking Bystolic (Bistolic), tell your doctor if you have any of the following conditions: a history of severe allergic reactions, blood circulation problems (e.g., Raynaud's disease), breathing problems (e.g., asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD), diabetes, heart problems (e.g., slow or irregular heartbeat, heart failure, heart attack), kidney disease, liver disease, overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) or a certain type of tumor (pheochromocytoma).
