Cholera Vaccine Dosage

Usual Adult Dose for Cholera Prophylaxis
Two 0.5 mL doses IM or subcutaneous administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
Alternate: Two 0.2 mL doses intradermal administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
Booster doses 0.5 mL IM/subcutaneous (or 0.2 mL intradermal) are recommended every 6 months.

>= 6 months to 4 years: Two 0.2 mL doses IM or subcutaneous administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
>= 5 years to 10 years: Two 0.3 mL doses IM or subcutaneous administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
Alternate: Two 0.2 mL intradermal doses administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
>= 10 years: Two 0.5 mL doses IM or subcutaneous administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
Alternate: Two 0.2 mL doses intradermal administered 1 week to 1 month apart.
Booster doses 0.5 mL IM/subcutaneous or (0.2 mL intradermal) are recommended every 6 months.
Precautions
Do not inject IV.
Cholera vaccine should not be administered to persons with thrombocytopenia or any coagulation disorder that would contraindicate intramuscular injection.

All serious adverse reactions should be reported to the US Department of Health and Human Services Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) at 1-800-822-7967.
