Care after Taser Removal

You have puncture wounds caused by the taser barbs. The barbs have been removed and no other injuries have been found.
DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Return to the emergency department if:
- You have a fever.
- You have severe pain, swelling, or redness around your wounds.
- You have drainage from your wounds.
Wound care:
Keep your wounds clean and dry. When you bathe, carefully wash the wounds with soap and water. Dry the area and put on new, clean bandages as directed. Change your bandages when they get wet or dirty.
Follow up with your healthcare provider as directed:
Write down your questions so you remember to ask them during your visits.
